late night thinking

So, I should probably be asleep, and I'll definitley regret this in the morning, but I was laying bed looking at Damon sleeping, and I wanted to type this out before I forgot it in the morning.

I don't even know why I am so surprised that I could love someone so much, and have only known them for a short period of time. I mean, being a second time mom, I should've been prepared for this overwhelming feeling of love.. but wow.. it really is an amazing love you have for your children. No matter if you've been watching them grow for years, and learning all of their silly little traits, or if you've only had them for a month, and all they can do is fart and sleep.

I wish I could keep both of my boys itty bitty.. I just want to cuddle them both all day, and hug them super tight. I will admit it has been a little tough splitting my time between the boys. When Damon starts to eat, Logan needs juice, or help building his race track.. It has been a real adjustment. But, when I do get an opportunity to sit and laugh and play with just Logan, he is the goofiest, sweetest, and smartest toddler. He amazes me everyday with what he knows. And when Logan is napping, and I get the chance to sit and just hold Damon, and cuddle him, it makes me so sad that this is the smallest he will ever be. I love having him curled up in a ball, all nice and warm with me.

Being a mom is the best feeling in the world. Even on the days that I think my patience has just about run out, and I am begging for Mike to come home, I can look at both boys at the end of the day, and know that I wouldn't change a thing.

*sorry, feeling extra mushy tonight..

Damon Joseph

Our newest member has arrived! 37 weeks and 3 days of a long, exhausting pregnancy was totally worth it, because he is absolutely perfect, and is so loved already!

6lbs 5 oz and 20 inches long
8.5.14 @ 545pm

A super easy induction, with a little bit of a scare at the end, but he is perfectly healthy, and so so tiny.

Logan did AMAZING meeting him, and handled coming and going at the hospital so well. It made things ten times easier for me, knowing that he wash't off crying and missing me. I knew when I was pregnant, that he was going to be a good big brother, but this just confirms it. He has done so well, and I am so happy to have such a wonderful boy.

getting bigger and bigger

2 months left, and I am already feeling like I am going to pop! I've been spending a lot of time with Logan at the pool, and even took on keeping Sierra for a night, just to try my hand at two kids and a dog. It actually wasn't to bad, but by the end of it all, I was exhausted. It probably didn't help that I am large, in charge, and exhausted 5 minutes after my day starts.

I tried to snap a few pictures of Logan, me, and my belly, and got a few that I was happy with.. it was a bit hard trying to get my entire belly in the shot, because I am so short, and the mirror is a little to high for me, but I managed with Logans help. He really is a great kid when he wants to be!

I am still doing photoshoots, and getting busier and busier as time passes.. which makes it harder to blog, since I am constantly editing. I'm sure my blogging will become lesss and lessssss.. but I will do my best to keep up.

learning to be a big brother

I don't think I'll ever really be able to prepare Logan for what is coming with the new baby, but I have been trying to give him an idea. Every day we tell him about the baby in mommy's belly, and that he is going to be a big brother. We read books, and point out all the babies we see.. and he's starting to get the idea. He knows where the baby is when I ask, and always tells me "belly" and he knows brother's name is Damon, but good luck getting him to tell you haha.

Since I am now on moderate bed rest, I've been trying my hardest to keep Logan entertained without all the running around. Today, we spent the day reading about the baby, and had a little photoshoot, which he is starting to love. (yay!)

he was over the books, and bed quickly. Let's hope I get off this moderate bed rest pretty quickly.. otherwise it'll be a long three months.

swimmmming!

yay for hot weather, good friends, and an awesome pool in our complex.

So proud of Logan.. even though he isn't fully swimming on his own, he is doing it with just a float now. It is so nice to see him swim around on his own, and he's definitely loving the fact that mommy and daddy don't have to hold on to him.

easter 2014

we spent this Easter with some old friends of Mikes, and it was nice and laid back. I didn't take many photos this year.. instead just sat back and relaxed, but I will share one of my favorites..

Hope everyone else enjoyed their day!

our bluebonnet tradition

Since Logan has been born, we have stopped by the bluebonnet patch near our house, every year (sounds so dramatic, like we've been doing it forever haha), so naturally, I wanted to go again this year. I was pretty disappointed at how much the field has been trampled though! Maybe it's because we went a little to late in the season, or that there was freak weather, and we reverted to winter in the middle of spring, but those poor flowers looked pitiful. We managed though, and these are some of my favorite pictures yet!

Mike did a great job with the camera, and I'm so happy to have these pictures with my little boy. I can't wait to have Damon here also next year!

you can see last years photos here.

I'll probably add some more photos here later because there are so many that I love!
